Snow Village (January 18 to March 31, 2012):
In addition to the six igloos you'll find the restaurant Pommery, the Amarula bar terrace, a chapel and a hotel, all fully built of ice. Several impressive structures and monuments of snow have also been built. Each year a different world capital is in the spotlight and for 2012, the beautiful city of Montreal has been elected!
Je t’aime en chocolat (February 11-12, 2012):
The first edition of this gourmet festival arrives just in time before Valentine's Day! Artists and master chocolatiers of Quebec meet at the Bonsecours Market, with some big names in fashion such as Dinh Bà, to present us their creations. On the program: Chocolate fashion shows!
Montréal Fashion Week (February 6-9, 2012):
Wanting to inject a touch of glamour to a February start which is a little gray? The MFW event will take you directly into an episode of Sex in the City! This year, the organizers offer the opportunity for the public to buy tickets for the fall-winter 2012 fashion shows of Tavan & Mitto, DUY, Martin Lim and ça va de soi. MFW is taking place at the Bonsecours Market, Montreal’s fashion hub. Book your tickets for the shows and experience the electrifying energy that takes place in Old Montreal’s bars and restaurants during that week.
Montréal en Lumière Festival (February 16-26, 2012):
Each year, a region from around the world is put in the spotlight in order to allow Montreal’s best chefs to meet up with their colleagues abroad. For its 2012 edition, the festival will focus on Brussels and Wallonia due their neighbourly qualities and the warmth of their hospitality, features that they share with Montreal, along with their complementary qualities when it comes to gastronomy and know-how. The duos of chefs will compose menus offering perfect wine pairings that reflect the fusion of their respective culinary cultures. Visit Expérience Vieux-Montréal to learn more about the menus of Suite 701, Verses and Aix participating at the festival. Notice to night owls: do not miss the Nuit Blanche, February 25, which offers more than 180 activities including music, exhibitions, dance and more!
Cirque du Soleil Show | Michael Jackson : The Immortal World Tour (March 20-22, 2012):
It is not necessary to be a fan of the King of Pop to be moved by this colorful musical offering an original retrospective of the career of the artist.
The Quays Skating Rink (until March 11, 2012):
This natural ice rink, located on the Clock Tour Quay next to the Jacques-Cartier Quay offers an amazing view of Montreal. Different musical themes are presented in the morning and evening and skate rental services are available on site.
